Oh, dear! Such a great one. It was the warm smile you remember, fortunately captured in countless photos, I’m sure. Condolences to Mike’s family and his dear friends. He was the right kind of educator: warm, friendly, approachable and undogmatic. I think he represented what was best about the University of Lincoln as it was finding its feet as a new institution. Probably not the case anymore. But we can say we knew some like Mike, and all benefitted from the friendship, however brief.
